AFTERCARE

  1. A. If Dermshield/Saniderm is applied: The bandage should be left on for 3-5 days. If bandage is peeling at edges, do not prematurely peel bandage unless tattoo is exposed. Do not poke holes in air bubbles or fluid pockets as this will allow bacteria to get under the bandage and increase risk of infection.

After the 3-5 days, continue on to Step 2, or as directed by your artist.

    B. If a sterile pad (Tattoo Armour) is applied:

The pad is to remain on for 6-8 hours of application. If applied at night, you do
not need to wake up and change it.

  2. After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattooed area with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water or rubbing the tattoo vigorously.

  3. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub or scrub the tattoo, as it may cause irritation or damage to the healing skin.

  4. Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, non-alcoholic moisturizer (we prefer raw unrefined coconut oil) or tattoo aftercare ointment to the tattooed area. Gently massage it into the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process 2–3 times a day for the first week.

  5. Avoid exposing your tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds during the healing process. UV rays can fade the colors and damage healing skin. If you need to be outside, make sure to apply a high SPF sunscreen to the tattooed area.

  6. Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling off any scabs or flakes that may form on the tattoo. Let them naturally fall off on their own to prevent scarring or color loss.

  7. Avoid submerging your tattoo in pools, hot tubs, or saunas for at least 2 weeks. Excess moisture and chemicals can delay the healing process and increase the risk of infection.

  8. Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing over your tattoo to avoid friction and irritation. Avoid tight or rough fabrics that can rub against the tattooed area.

  9. Avoid activities that involve excessive sweating or strenuous physical exertion for the first few days after getting your tattoo. Sweat can irritate the healing skin and increase the risk of infection.

If you notice any signs of infection such as excessive redness, swelling, pus, or prolonged pain, call or txt the shop at (216) 287-9213. Remember to follow these aftercare instructions carefully to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results for your tattoo. If you do not take care of your tattoo during the healing process, then the touch up policy will no longer be valid to you. This is at the artist's discretion.
